Herschede Movements

Herschede Movement

Eight-day, key-wound, weight-driven

In the interest of tradition as well as utmost accuracy, both chimes and the pendulum-controlled movement of the Herschede floor clocks are powered by three cable wind weights. The eight-day movement beats seconds, has patent beat adjustment, double-arm suspension bridge, patent moon shift and maintains power during the winding process. All shafts and pinions are of first quality steel, tempered, and highly polished. All brass elements, including the three brass shell weights, are damaskeen or emery finish. The Herschede patented, self-correcting chime feature assures the precise coordination of the chimes with the hour.
